Review : Korres Japanese Rose Showergel

Hola girls! Since the weather today is really bad and rainy, at least in Athens, I thought I’d review for you a bath product that smells lovely and that is great for pampering yourself, because I hear that the bad weather will continue in Athens. The product I’m talking about is the Korres Japanese Rose Showergel and it’s the second Korres shower gel I’m trying. In case you didn’t know Korres is a Greek pharmacy brand that is sold worldwide and you can check out where you can find their products here. You can also google their products, because they’re sold in many different online pharmacies nowadays.

It comes in a beautiful plastic bottle that holds 250ml of product, so it’s really convenient, especially for travelling, and I love the fact that there’s a gap between the 2 parts of the label on the side and you can see how much product you have left. Overall nice packaging, I don’t have anything negative to say. Here’s what it looks like :

The actual shower gel is somewhat clear and it’s neither thick nor runny, it’s somewhere inbetween, which I appreciate in shower gels, because if it’s thick then it takes ages to come out of the bottle and if it’s runny you always get too much out and it’s too messy. You don’t need a lot of product each time, as it lathers up pretty well, yet it doesn’t dry out my skin. It has a lovely, sensual rose scent, but unfortunately on my skin it doesn’t last very long. This shower gel claims to have 82.9% natural content and to not contain mineral oil, silicones, parabens, PEG, SLES, ALES, synthetic dye, fragrance, alcohol, wheat (and other stuff as well) and it’s also vegan, so no animal testing or animal by-products are involved when making it. One thing I want to point out is that it says it doesn’t contain SLES, yet in the ingredients I see Sodium Laureth Sulfate. What’s up with that? Isn’t that SLES? Here’s the list of the ingredients from Korres website :

Aqua/ Water/ Eau, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Parfum (Fragrance), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Althaea Offcinalis Root Extract, Arginine, Benzyl Alcohol, Castoryl Maleate, Citronellol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Helichrysum Arenarium Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Lactic Acid, Limonene, Phenoxyethanol, Polyquaternium-7, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Gluconate, Tocopherol.

The retail price of this shower gel in Greece is around 5Euros, but you can always find it cheaper on online pharmacies. Online pharmacies should be your best friend, as the difference in prices between them and actual pharmacies is pretty big! I would buy this shower gel, as I liked the scent and the consistency, but I also want to clear out the SLES thing. Can anybody give us more information on that matter? I’m not paranoid about sles and ales when it comes to body products, but I just want to know what’s going on.
