Hey my beautiful people! Today I’m gonna review a body butter I’ve been using lately. It’s from the brand The Body Shop, which you all know, and it’s the Vanilla Bliss Body Butter from their Christmas collection. I started using it a little over 2 weeks ago, although I already have 2-3 body lotions/butters open, because it’s a limited edition item, so I wanted to tell you about it while you could still get it!
Let’s start the review with the packaging as always. This body butter comes in the typical TBS body butter packaging, namely a plastic jar that holds 200ml of product and the color of this particular jar is a pastel yellow. I really like the design on the sticker that’s on the cap, so pretty and festive. This type of packaging allows you to see how much product you have left, however it’s not very hygienic, because you have to dip your fingers into the product, but hey you couldn’t put a body butter into a tube or something, it wouldn’t come out lol. Here’s what the packaging looks like :
The actual product is a little bit thick, not as thick as the Shea Body Butter, but still pretty thick. However it’s easy to spread it around the skin. As for the scent, I’m not a huge vanilla fan, but I must admit that I quite like it, since this is not your typical vanilla scent. I mean it smells like vanilla, but it’s not sickening sweet, because it has a hint of spice or something in it, which I enjoy. This product is for all skin types, but I find myself applying all body butters on dry skin only, namely on my legs from knees down, on my feet and on my elbows, as the rest of the skin on my body is normal to oily, so it doesn’t really need so much moisture. If you have dry skin though this will be perfect for all over your body, as it contains cocoa seed butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, beeswax and sesame seed oil, which hydrate and protect the skin. Here’s what the product looks like in the packaging :
Now let’s talk about the price of this body butter. As most body butters from The Body Shop it retails for 15Euros in Greece and you get 200ml of good quality product that smells nice or lovely, depending on whether you love vanilla or not, and that leaves your skin soft and moisturized, plus it will last you a long time, since it’s a pretty thick product and you don’t need much each time. I know that in order to get it you have to pay 15Euros at once and that seems a bit pricey, however in the end it’s worth the money in my opinion. I recently used up my first body butter (coconut) and it took me for ever to do that! So, give this product a go, especially if you have dry skin on your body and if you like a vanilla scented body butter with a twist! You can find The Body Shop products at The Body Shop stores here. Oh and if you end up liking/loving the scent, TBS sells other items in the same line, such as shower gel, body polish, hand cream etc. and they’ve also come out with a cute vanilla sets that includes 4 different items.
+ smells lovely - a bit pricey
+ different vanilla scent than usual
+ you don’t need much each time
+ leaves the skin soft
+ hydrates the skin
+ cute packaging
+ you get a good amount of product
I really like the body butters from The Body Shop and this one is nice, especially if you take into consideration that I’m not a huge fan of vanilla, but I have to be honest with you as always and say that I wouldn’t purchase this particular scent. Its texture and the moisture it gives are lovely as always, but I personally like other scents much better, the coconut one and the vineyard peach one are my favorites. Everybody is different when it comes to scents though, so go ahead and give this product a sniff! Have you tried the Vanilla Bliss Body Butter? What’s your favorite body butter from The Body Shop? J
FTC : The Body Shop Greece kindly gave me this product for free, but no review or anything was requested. My opinions are honest as always, because YOU come first! I would never recommend to you something I didn't like :)
