Hey my darlings! Today I’m gonna review a face serum that I’ve been loving since August and that’s the Hydraphase Intense Serum by La Roche Posay. La Roche Posay is a French brand that I’ve been loving for the last 2 years, I have a thing for French skincare brands actually. I’ve had this serum since the end of July and I even took it with me on vacation, but I wanted to really test it out before doing a review, so here it is finally!
Let’s start the review with the packaging as always. This serum comes in a chic white bottle made of glass that holds 30ml of product. I love the fact that it comes with a pump, because it’s more hygienic and more practical that way. The only negative thing that I can find about the packaging is that you can’t see how much product you have left, unless you remove the pump and take a look inside the bottle. Here’s what the packaging looks like :
The actual product is a clear gel and it’s quite runny. It has a very light fresh scent that won’t bother most people . It contains Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, which is amazing for keeping the moisture into the skin, and Serine and Arginine, which boost the Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid’s action. This is the first serum I’ve ever tried and I must say I’m really pleased with it, although I have oily skin and I thought it would be heavy for me. I’ve applied it both on bare skin and over my acne gel as a moisturizer and it worked great at keeping my skin moisturized and soft! Irritation was something I feared, especially when applying it over my acne gel, but nothing happened. No irritations, no breakouts, nothing. Just moisturized and soft skin. It actually feels very refreshing when you apply it, it has a lovely lightweight texture that's not sticky or greasy. If you have oily skin like me you can use this serum instead of moisturizer and if you have dry skin you can use it under your moisturizer for extra moisture. Now if you want to make it even more refreshing, you know what I'm gonna say... keep it in the fridge lol! Here’s what the product looks like :
Now let’s talk about the price of this serum. It retails for 25Euros in Greece and you get 30ml of good quality product that does what it says and that it comes in a hygienic and practical bottle with a pump, so I think that it’s worth the money. Definitely give this lovely serum a try, especially if your skin feels dehydrated after the summer. You can find La Roche Posay products at most pharmacies and don’t forget that you can always find them cheaper on online pharmacies like this one.
+ lovely, lightweight texture - a bit pricey
+ no parabens
+ chic packaging
+ comes with a pump
+ hydrates the skin really well
+ doesn’t cause breakouts
+ doesn’t irritate the skin
+ contains LRP Thermal Water
I like this serum and I will definitely buy it once it’s gone, because it hydrates my skin really well without making it greasy and irritating it, plus La Roche Posay is a brand that I’ve been faithful to for the past 2 years, as it works great for me. Have you tried this product? What’s your favorite serum for the face? J
FTC : assetOgilvy kindly sent me this product for free on behalf of L’Oreal Cosmetique Active, but no review or anything was requested. My opinions are honest as always, because YOU come first! I would never recommend to you something I didn't like :)
