Hi my beautiful friends! Today I’m gonna review a lovely sles free and paraben free shampoo that I bought almost a month ago from the pharmacy. It’s the Extra Mild Shampoo for Delicate Hair by the Greek brand Froika. It’s the first sles and paraben free shampoo that I’ve tried and I’m really satisfied with it!
Before we start the review, let me tell you a few bits about my hair. My hair is normal to thick, wavy, oily and frizzy. For about 16 years I did the terrible mistake (terrible, I know!) of washing it everyday. Now with the help of Exesio shampoo, which I’ll review once I’m done with it (you’re supposed to use it for at least 6 months), I’m washing my hair every other day. I got Froika’s shampoo to do the second wash, as before that I would do both washes with Exesio, which contains some not so great ingredients, so I wanted a shampoo of better quality to use for the second wash.
Let’s start the review with the packaging as always. This shampoo comes in a simple white plastic bottle that holds 200ml of product. It’s a simple bottle, but I like it, I like the simplicity of it. The only bad thing about it is that you can’t see how much product you have left. Here’s what the bottle looks like :
The actual product is clear and the texture is a bit runny. It has a light fresh scent that I can’t really describe, but I find it lovely anyway. This shampoo is for frequent use and for delicate hair, that’s why it’s ideal for athletes that have to wash their hair even twice a day. It’s formulated without sles and parabens, so don’t expect it to create huge amounts of foam, but because of that it won’t strip your hairs of their natural oils and it won’t make your scalp itchy. On the bottle it says that it offers long lasting moisturization, that it increases hair tolerance and that it makes the hair flexible, soft and shiny and all these claims are true! My hair is soft and shiny even without hair conditioner and it feels much healthier in general.
Now let’s talk about the price of this shampoo. It retails for about 13Euros in Greece (it's a Greek brand) and you get 200ml of good quality product that does what it says, so yeah it’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s worth the extra money. If you’ve never tried an sles and paraben free shampoo, then definitely give this product a try, especially if you have oily hair or sensitive/itchy scalp!
+ paraben free - a bit pricey
+ sles free
+ very mild
+ leaves the hair soft and shiny
+ very hydrating
+ fortifies the hair
+ protects the scalp
I really like this shampoo and I will definitely re-purchase it, although it’s a bit pricey, because it does what it says and I truly believe that it’s worth the money. If you think about it, sometimes I don't have to use conditioner with it, so it's not so pricey after all lol! Have you tried this product? What’s your favorite sles and paraben free shampoo? J
