Review : Elf Professional Shine Eraser

Oil blotting sheets are essential for me, since I have oily skin, so I’m always on the look for something better and cheaper! Until now I was using Clean & Clear Oil Blotting Sheets, which a kind lady from the USA had sent to me a few years ago, but I just ran out of them, so I had to find something else, since Clean & Clear Oil Blotting Sheets aren’t available here in Greece! I think I’ve found a nice and cheap alternative to them! They’re called Shine Eraser and they’re by Elf!

The packaging is very simple, it’s a small envelope made of glossy paper that holds 50 sheets! You open it up and you gently pull out a sheet or two! The top part of the envelope fits into a hole in the bottom part of the envelope, so it’s not easy for the envelope to open up while it’s in your handbag, that’s good! My only worry about this packaging is that I don’t know if it will still hold up well in my handbag after a few months, since it’s not that sturdy! But hey for 1,50pounds I can’t complain! Here’s what it looks like:

The actual product is a thin sheet that looks like ricepaper! On the back of the packaging it says that these oil blotting sheets absorb oil, mattify skin and minimize pores! They do absorb oil and mattify the skin, but I didn’t notice any difference in the size of my pores! Since they’re thinner than Clean & Clear Oil Blotting Sheets you might need more than one sheet for your whole face, but they’re dirty cheap, so that shouldn’t be a problem! Here's what it looks like:

How do you use these sheets? Well, you gently pull out a Shine Eraser sheet from the packaging and then you blot the sheet on your t-zone or wherever you need it! Then flip the sheet and blot again if you want! Will these sheets ruin my makeup? Absolutely not!!! Just make sure to blot, NOT rub!!

Overall I think these sheets are very nice! They retail for 1,50pounds and you get 50 sheets, which is awesome!! At that price you won’t feel guilty for using them! Definitely check them out! ;)

  1. I do like these, torn between them though and the Translucent Matte Powder by them. Still confused even with the massive price diff!

  4. @Enigma you use the shine erasers to remove the excess oil and then you apply some powder! Don't apply powder before blotting, because it will look cakey/heavy! :)
